The newest release from Pure Noise Records (The Story So Far, Handguns) is actually promising. What we get from this young band out of the Bay Area is a energetic post-hardcore EP with moments that are reminiscent of the whole 90s rock revival thing going on right now (Balance & Composure, Sainthood Reps). A particular example of this is the intro in "La Jetee", it just sounds so crunchy, with a hard groove that fade into the song as the vocals start. As far as vocally, this album has some singing but mostly yell-singing in the vein of La Dispute and sometimes B&C. It seems that lyrically and delivery wise the singer is going for a La Dispute/mewithoutYou vibe most of the time, especially in the last two tracks. Overall this EP was nice four songs that kept my attention; this will defiantly be a band to watch in 2012. Big Things Poppin' , Little Things Droppin'.
